So to reward myself for successfully finishing this college semester, while working fulltime, while caring for two teenagers ( who don't need your meddling, MOTHER) and their Dad, who admittedly does need meddling...anyway, as my reward I'm reading a very non-educational  and entertaining  fantasy novel,  "Mort" by Terry Pratchett.  From the pen of Mr. Pratchett I give you the BEST SIMILES EVER:

I dutifully gave to the Strange Horizons fundraising drive last fall and got an email in December informing me that I'd won the fundraising sweepstakes. Given my choice of freebies, I gleefully asked for my very own copy of Jade Tiger by Jenn Reese. It came in today's mail! Posted to me from Jenn Reese, her ownself! Autographed, of course.
